Dedicated from day one: “From being a candy striper as a teenager to becoming a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner 25 years ago, I always knew I wanted to work in women’s health. I’ve worked across specialties, but my passion has always been women’s health. Women deserve more support than they often receive, and I aim to be a part of that solution.”
Not our mother’s healthcare: “Early in my career, I worked in a community clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, providing care to women with limited access. One patient shared that she had needed her husband's permission to get birth control. It was not too long ago that women didn’t have the autonomy to make decisions about their bodies. This is not our mother’s society. Women need to be heard and validated, and I strive to give them the autonomy they deserve in my practice.”
The reward of listening: “Many women aren't accustomed to being asked what they need or want. I ensure that my patients feel validated and supported, making their healthcare experience positive and hopeful. It's about more than just treatment; it's about making women feel empowered and listened to.”
