A little bit of everything: “I’ve been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2011, taking care of patients from cradle to grave. Before that, I spent about 15 years as a Registered Nurse working in the ER, pediatrics, PICU, med-surg, and even as a flight nurse. That well-rounded nursing background has been so valuable in my Nurse Practitioner career.”
The pattern I couldn’t ignore: “Over and over, women in their 40s, 50s, 60s have come to me saying, “I don’t feel like myself—I think I’m going crazy—and no one is listening.” That pattern inspired me to dig deep into perimenopause and menopause, so I can actually help.”
A moment I’ll always remember: “I had a patient in her late 60s who had been taken off hormone therapy due to a clotting history. She told me she was having hot flashes 100 times a day and was absolutely miserable. I’ll never forget when she said, ‘I’d rather die than live like this.’ That moment reminded me that quality of life matters just as much as anything else. Together, we made a shared decision to restart her estrogen—safely—and her life improved so much. That experience truly changed how I practice.”
