A career shaped by women’s stories: "I started in healthcare in 1987 and spent my early years in postpartum and labor and delivery at a teaching hospital. Watching residents rotate through inspired me to keep learning, and starting in 2001, I spent many years in federally qualified health centers doing OB/GYN care. When a patient comes to me overwhelmed by symptoms or unsure where to begin, I start by slowing things down. We sort through what she’s feeling, what she hopes for, and what she’s ready to tackle. My goal is for her to leave with confidence — not just in the plan, but in herself."
Walking with women through vulnerable moments: "Some of my most meaningful experiences have come during conversations with women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. We talk about how women are so often groomed to give, give, give, and how part of their healing may be learning to receive. Helping someone name what they truly need during such a frightening time has shaped the way I care for every patient."
Why hormones light me up: "About two years ago, I discovered the world of remote hormone management and felt an immediate spark. I had started hormone therapy myself to support my bone health and dove deep into research. The more I learned, the more animated I became. I wish I’d had this information when I first went through menopause. I want to help other women avoid backpedalling, or at least feel fully informed so they can make the best decisions for themselves."
