My journey in healthcare: "I have been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2021, but my journey in healthcare began long before that. As a registered nurse, I spent many years working in critical care across multiple intensive care units and emergency departments, where I learned the importance of staying calm under pressure while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Before joining Midi, I specialized in LGBTQIA+ health, HIV and Hepatitis C treatment, and gender-affirming care, experiences that strengthened my commitment to serving patients with empathy, respect, and evidence-based medicine."
Why women’s health matters to me: "My passion for women's health is deeply personal. When I was around 11 years old, my mother underwent a total hysterectomy, and I watched her struggle through difficult medical experiences while feeling unheard by many of her healthcare providers. I became a caregiver in many ways during that time, and those experiences ultimately inspired me to pursue women's health so I could provide the kind of compassionate, affirming care that every patient deserves.Throughout my career, I have felt called to serve marginalized and disenfranchised communities. I joined Midi because of the company's mission and its commitment to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based care. That mission closely reflects my own values and reminds me every day why this work is so meaningful."
My approach to care: "Education is at the heart of my practice. I believe patients are most successful when they understand their diagnosis, the reasoning behind treatment recommendations, and the options available to them. Creating that sense of partnership and ‘buy-in’ empowers patients to take an active role in their health and leads to better long-term outcomes. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching patients transform once they feel truly listened to, respected, and supported. I enjoy helping each patient set realistic, attainable goals and celebrating alongside them as those goals are achieved, and often exceeded."
Beyond the clinic: "Outside of healthcare, I am passionate about human rights, health equity, and strengthening my community through service and advocacy. In my free time, I enjoy creative writing and hosting and playing Dungeons & Dragons, which allows me to connect with others through storytelling, creativity, and collaboration."
