From patient to provider: "I became a nurse practitioner in 2011, after beginning my nursing career in oncology and the ICU. As a nurse practitioner, I worked in family medicine before returning to oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in malignant hematology. Over the past decade, my own menopause journey led me to deepen my knowledge of hormone therapy and functional health and eventually provide integrated hormone care for both women and men."
The hurdle that changed my path: "In 2015, I broke my foot after running a half marathon, and no matter what I tried, it wasn’t healing. My orthopedic doctor suggested checking my hormones and getting a DEXA scan, but because of my age, I struggled to find someone who would even test my hormones. When testing finally showed a deficiency, I still couldn’t get the help I needed. As a healthcare provider, that experience was incredibly frustrating. I decided I wanted to help other women get answers and care without facing the same hurdles, and that’s what led me to Midi."
Care means staying with you: "I want every patient to feel heard, seen, and like she has someone helping her navigate this journey. Menopausal hormone therapy is nuanced. There isn’t one right approach, and prescribing something is only the beginning. Good care means listening, following up, and making adjustments when something isn’t working."
Treatment that fits your life: "I look at the whole person, her symptoms, lifestyle, preferences, and priorities, because different approaches work for different people. I joined Midi because I wanted to help more women get the care they need without unnecessary barriers."
