Nursing through it all: "I’ve been a nurse since 2000. While my husband served as an active-duty Navy Seabee, we moved every three to four years, overseas and across the US, and raised our three beautiful children. Through it all, I kept nursing as my constant. It gave me purpose—and, honestly, a little sanity along the way. Once he retired, I earned my advanced nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and fell in love with primary care because I could care for the whole person."
Seeing the pattern: "Throughout my years as a nurse, I started noticing something. Women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s were coming to me exhausted, anxious, depressed, and sleep-deprived. It became clear as day that so many were struggling with perimenopause and menopause, yet they were often told, ‘that’s just what happens at your age.’ I knew we had to do better."
Finding my calling: "I started immersing myself in menopause education and learning how to safely use hormone therapy. I eventually left primary care, in part to take care of my own perimenopausal needs. After surgery, I joined Midi—and I have never been happier. I love caring for this population of patients and truly find purpose and satisfaction in caring for women through perimenopause and menopause."
No more pretending: "I want women to feel relieved that they finally found us. No more gaslighting. No more pretending everything is fine. We understand what’s happening, we listen, and we’re here to help women feel like themselves again."
