Coming full circle to women's healthcare: "I became a nurse in 2012 and a nurse practitioner in December 2018. I began my nurse practitioner journey in women’s health, then gained experience in primary care and addiction medicine. When I had the opportunity to return to women’s health with Midi, I jumped at it. I realized how much I missed this work and wanted to be part of something this powerful and impactful."
Listening changes care: "A patient once came to me after years of having an unusual skin growth that had been dismissed. I listened to her concerns, performed a biopsy, and discovered an abnormal growth. That experience stayed with me because it reinforced something I strongly believe: patients know their bodies. Listening to their concerns is the most important part of clinical decision-making."
You’re in the driver’s seat: "I want my patients to understand their care plan and feel comfortable telling me when something doesn’t make sense. I tell them this is a journey we’re on together. I’m not in the driver’s seat—they are. I’m the passenger beside them, there to listen, guide, and provide information along the way."
Finding what works: "When it comes to midlife symptoms, I want to understand what a woman has tried, what hasn’t worked, and how long she’s been struggling. There are many options, from hormone therapy to non-hormonal approaches and other supportive treatments. My goal is to keep working together until we find an approach that helps manage her symptoms and improve her quality of life."
Finding perspective: "Outside of work, spending time with my family brings me joy. They help me reset and remember the bigger picture. No matter what’s going on, I know I can count on a good laugh or a brand-new perspective when I’m around them."
