A career built on caring: "I began my healthcare career in 1985, long before many of my coworkers were born. Since then, I have spent over 40 years in pre-hospital and hospital settings, including more than 25 years in emergency medicine. During this time, I served as a house supervisor for seven years and cared for patients in areas ranging from high risk nursery to the post-anesthesia care unit to urgent care."
Rewiring, not retiring: "When many of my colleagues started thinking about retirement, I realized I wasn’t ready to step back — I wanted to ‘rewire’ instead. After watching close friends navigate midlife changes, and experiencing my own challenges with weight shifts, breast cancer, uterine cancer, and other transitions, I felt called to support women during this pivotal stage of life. That’s what led me to Midi."
Creating an impact that matters: "While working at a Native American clinic in Alaska, I was stopped at the airport by a patient who tearfully begged me not to leave, saying I was the only provider who truly listened. That moment reminded me that being present, really present, can change someone’s life."
Approaching care with intention: "My approach mirrors how I try to live, treating everyone with dignity and respect, knowing we each carry visible and hidden struggles. I believe in working together as a team, patients and providers, to find the best possible solutions so women can reclaim the quality of life they deserve."
