A legacy of nursing: I come from a family of nurses: my mom, aunt, many cousins, and extended family all work in healthcare. I became a Registered Nurse in 2009, and since then have gone back to school to earn my masters as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and my doctoral degree in nursing practice. An experience that shaped my care: “I have several family members affected by lupus, an autoimmune disease, and they were not always treated well by the healthcare system. In my teens, I remember overhearing nurses speaking disparagingly about my aunt outside her hospital room, and watching a tear fall from her eye. At that moment, I vowed that my practice would treat everybody with love, compassion, and kindness.”Holistic care partnership: “Perimenopause and menopause challenges are often overlooked in healthcare and research. I’m passionate about supporting women through this transition, offering guidance on hormone replacement therapy, herbs, and supplements. It’s crucial for women in midlife to understand that they don’t have to endure these challenges alone.”
