Ingredients:

Active ingredients: Testosterone USP (Micronized)
Inactive ingredients: Cream base (purified water, isopropyl myristate, tea stearate, carthamus tinctorius seed oil, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, tea carbomer, caprylyl glycol, potassium sorbate)

Mechanism of Action:

Testosterone is an androgen hormone that affects libido, energy, bone density, lean muscle mass, and cognition. It acts via intracellular androgen receptors and is involved in modulating gene expression related to sexual function, metabolic regulation, and musculoskeletal health.

Benefits:

Testosterone may support improved sexual desire, muscle mass preservation, bone density maintenance, and metabolic health support.

Suggested Application:

  • Apply the prescribed dose to clean, dry skin on the inner thigh, upper arms, abdomen, or areas you regularly shave, as mild hair growth may occur at application sites.
  • Rotate application sites to minimize skin sensitivity.
  • Allow the cream to dry before dressing or encountering others.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after applying.

Storage and Stability:

  • Store at room temperature.
  • Protect from moisture and excessive heat.
  • Keep out of reach of children and apply as directed to prevent accidental exposure.
  • Best if used 120 days from the date of when the medication was compounded.

Contraindications:

Don’t take testosterone if you: 

  • Have a known allergy to the medication or its ingredients
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have hormone-sensitive breast cancers or active gynecologic cancers
  • Serious cardiac, kidney, or liver disease

Side Effects:

Side effects are rare at low doses but may include:

  • Mild acne or oily skin
  • Increased facial or body hair growth (hirsutism)
  • Skin irritation or redness at the application site
  • Voice deepening (rare and typically dose-related)
  • Mood changes

Potential Drug Interactions:

  • Corticosteroids: Combining testosterone with systemic corticosteroids (such as prednisone) may increase the risk of fluid retention.
  • Warfarin/Coumadin: Testosterone can enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin, increasing the risk of bleeding.
  • High Blood Pressure Associated Agents: May strengthen the hypertensive effect of testosterone.
  • Agents with blood glucose lowering effects: Testosterone can improve insulin sensitivity, leading to lower blood glucose levels. Monitor for signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and discuss dosing adjustments with your clinician.
  • Weight loss medications/GLP-1s (Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, etc.): Testosterone may increase the risk of hypoglycemia by improving insulin sensitivity and muscle mass. Monitor for signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and discuss dosing adjustments with your Midi clinician.
