Mechanism of Action:
- Estradiol
- Local estrogens have been shown to reduce vaginal pH as well as mature the vaginal and urethral mucosa to improve vaginal dryness and mucosal atrophy.
- DHEA
- DHEA itself a natural hormone that helps produce both testosterone and estrogen, both of which help with collagen and elasticity. DHEA is often used as a testosterone booster as well.
Benefits:
- Vaginal Dryness
- Topical estrogen may improve vaginal lubrication through decreased vaginal pH, increased blood flow, and lubrication.
- Subsequently women have reported decreased vaginal irritation leading to increased sexual desire and quality of life.
- Libido
- Topical estrogen and DHEA improves vaginal health. Additionally the DHEA is a precursor to testosterone, which may improve sexual health.
Suggested Dosing:
- Apply 1 gram to labia, vulva and vaginal vestibule.
Storage/Stability:
- Store in the original container at 68°F to 77° away from heat, moisture, and light.
Breastfeeding:
- Estrogens are present in breastmilk and have been shown to decrease the quantity and quality of human milk.
