Finasteride Minoxidil Solution

Compounded Formulations:

Finasteride 0.1% Minoxidil 5% Solution

FDA Approval:

  • Androgenic alopecia (Minoxidil)
  • Benign prostate hyperplasia and androgenic alopecia (Finasteride)

Mechanism of Action:

  • Finasteride – blocks the action of 5-alpha-reductase which lowers dihydrotestosterone that has a damaging effect on hair follicles
  • Minoxidil – acts by opening adenosine triphosphate potassium channels in vascular smooth muscle cells causing vasodilation and stimulating microcirculation around hair follicles

  • Prompts hair follicles to produce hair again
  • Increase hair growth
  • Slows the hair loss process
  • Lengthens the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle
  • Produce thicker hair

Black Box Warning:

  • Increased risk of high-grade prostate cancers (Finasteride)

Suggested Dosing:

  • Hair loss - Apply one pump of cream to the affected area (face) at night time.

Administration:

  • Topical
  • Apply to clean and dry affected area of scalp
  • Gently rub solution and allow for solution to dry completely before using other products or going to bed

Storage/Stability:

  • Room Temperature
  • Protect from moisture and excessive heat
  • 180 Day BUD

Pregnancy:

  • Not recommended during pregnancy

Breastfeeding:

  • Not recommended while breastfeeding
